Joining us is straightforward: maximum rigour – minimum fuss
- Already an approved exam centre for another exam board?
If your centre already has a National Centre Number and you offer general qualifications from another JCQ Awarding body, simply contact our centre registration department to request an application pack.

Call us to discuss your requirements.
What you need to do
- Ensure that your staff are familiar with these JCQ documents
- Make provisions for the secure receipt and storage of confidential exam materials.
- Prepare for the JCQ centre inspection staff to visit you.
- Provide references (in the case of private establishments a Credit Assessment will also be required).
- Remember that the process could take a little time: to gain full benefit of our support and resources, contact us about becoming a centre when you start to teach the course.
What we will do
- Keep in touch to ensure we have all the correct details for your application.
- Arrange for an approved JCQ inspector to visit your centre (if appropriate).
- Give you our decision based on your application and the inspector's report.
- Allocate a National Centre Number (NCN) and send you the relevant documentation for your students' exam entries.
Private/independent centres applying for approval to enter candidates for examinations will be charged a registration administration fee. For further details regarding fees please see the Entry Fees and other charges booklet in the
