Specifications


Formerly known as syllabuses.

To find your specification:

- Go to the home page
- Select Qualifications from the blue menu near the top of the page.
- Then select your qualification type - GCSE, A-level, etc.
- Select your subject from the left-hand menu.

Each specification usually includes:

  • Specification at a glance
    Contains information such as length of each paper and percentage of total marks
  • Assessment criteria and assessment objectives
    Provides useful information on what examiners are looking for from candidates' answers
  • Subject content
    Gives the content covered by the specification
  • Grade descriptors
    Indicates the quality/range of performance examiners are looking for at each grade.
