We are an independent company limited by guarantee not having share capital (company number 3644723) and a registered charity (registered number 1073334).

As a charity, any surpluses we make are re-invested towards our educational purpose. We invest in specification developments and new products, improvements to our services (such as e-AQA and Enhanced Results Analysis) and to our processes.

Our major source of operational income is from examination fees and related charges to our schools and colleges and our total turnover is around £150 million per year.

We aim to keep our fees as low as possible whilst still providing high quality products and services. Our fees are set by our Council who are drawn from various educational and business bodies and include Head Teachers and Principals who are aware of the financial pressures on schools and colleges.
