What is AQA Bacc?

A qualification which recognises and celebrates the achievements of well rounded students with A levels and more.

Students face ever-increasing challenges in highly competitive environments for opportunities in employment and higher education.

To be successful, they must develop and demonstrate:

  • self-management
  • independence
  • communication
  • time management

alongside their academic ability.

The AQA Bacc can effectively strengthen and illustrate these skills. Students build on core A-level subjects, adding value through wider learning and enrichment activities.

How is the Bacc assessed?

The Bacc comprises of:

  • 3 A-levels subjects (students' main subject choices)
  • Independent learning through Extended Project
  • Personal development through Enrichment activities: Work related learning, community participation and personal development activities
  • Breadth through minimum AS in General Studies or Critical Thinking or Citizenship Studies.

Students can complete a Bacc based on A-levels awarded by any awarding body to achieve a grade of Pass, Merit or Distinction.
