Personal Economics for PSHE courses

The short course in Personal Economics has been developed to help centres meet the PSHE requirements for Economic Wellbeing and Financial Capability. Please see our PSHE leaflet to find out more.

We have produced a guide on how the specification has been mapped against these requirements.

The Short Course in Personal Economics can be found in our Business Subjects and Economics specification. See Unit 11.

A scheme of work has been developed for delivering this course.

Personal Economics – Case studies

Why choose GCSE Business Subjects and Economics?

In addition to helping students acquire subject knowledge, our new specification:

  • provides an understanding of the commercial world and how finance is raised and used by the government to pay for the nation's goods and services
  • encourages students to consider the practical application of business and economic concepts
  • explores the theories and concepts in the context of events in the business and economic world
  • provides progression for students wishing to continue their studies to A-level Business Studies, A-level Economics, A-level Applied Business and the Diploma.

Help is at hand

To smooth the transition from the current specifications to the new one, we offer a wide range of support services. Every step of the way we can work in partnership to help your students achieve their potential.
